Police Kill One Suspected Armed Robber In Gun Battle In Yenagoa
The Bayelsa State Police Command on Tuesday said its agents of the counter grabbing squad struck a criminal's den and gunned down a suspected furnished looter in a shootout.
Asinim Butswat, Deputy Superintendent of Police and Spokesman of the Bayelsa State Command, said the squad directed the operation at an uncompleted working along Airforce Road, Okaka, Yenagoa, to capture a famous three-man outfitted theft posse in light of tip off.
Mr. Butswat said that on locating the police and in a mad offer to get away, the thieves let go at the police, and the police returned fire.
"One of the suspects managed a projectile damage, while the others evaded, surrendering one privately made single barrel gun, one live cartridge, one exhausted cartridge and wraps of substances suspected to be Indian hemp.
"The injured suspect was captured and taken to the Federal Medical Center for treatment, yet passed on a couple of hours after the fact.
"The perished suspect was later re
cognized as Innocent Kokorif. Endeavors have been increased to capture the escaping suspects," he said.
