PDP Rubbishes Court Order, Starts Screening for National Convention

The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has challenged a request by an Abuja High Court on Monday as it began the screening of hopefuls competing for different workplaces as a major aspect of its national tradition charged for Wednesday in Port Harcourt, River State.

A Federal High Court in Abuja on Monday had made a break request ceasing the Ahmed Makarfi-drove group of the PDP from proceeding with its arrangement to direct the national tradition of the gathering.

However, a Federal High Court sitting in Port Harcourt coordinated the police and the Department of State Services to give security to the PDP tradition.

Despite the Abuja court administering, the National Convention Screening Committee of the PDP touched base in Port Harcourt on Monday and began the screening of the applicants.

Conspicuous hopefuls screened on Monday in front of the tradition were a previous Deputy National Chairman of the PDP, Chief Bode George; a previous Education Minister, Prof. Tunde Adeniran; a previous governoship applicant of the PDP in Lagos State, Mr. Jimi Agbaje; and the Chairman of Daar Communications Plc, Chief Raymond Dokpesi.

The Chairman of the Screening Committee is a previous Governor of Benue State, Dr Gabriel Suswam.
