Man who named dog Buhari regains freedom

The man, who named his dog"Buhari," Joachim Iroko, has been discharged in the wake of culminating his safeguard conditions.

Iroko, who is more known as Joe, was discharged on Thursday, after he had burned through three days in Ibara Prison, Abeokuta, Ogun State.

He had been charged on behavior prone to bring about break of the peace under the watchful eye of an Ota Magistrate's Court 2 on Monday.

The police had captured him on August 13, taking after a dissension by one of his neighbors, Halilu Umar.

The neighbor was said to have answered to the police that Iroko named the pooch after his (Umar's) father, Alhaji Buhari.

The directing Chief Magistrate, B.J. Ojikutu allowed him safeguard in the whole of N50,000 with two sureties in like aggregate after he argued not liable to the charge.

Disappointment of Iroko's relatives to get together with the safeguard conditions prompted his remand in Ibara Prison, where he was until Thursday.

The charged was said to have been discharged around 10am, when a propagation warrant was conveyed to the jail authorities.

This was affirmed by the Public Relations Officer, Nigeria Prisons Service, Ogun State Command, Victor Oyeleke.

He said, "The man (Joachim Iroko) has been discharged at the beginning of today from Ibara Prison. The blamed was discharged around 10am when the Reproduction Warrant was brought from the Court, demonstrating that his safeguard conditions have been consummated."
