Customs dismisses 17 junior officers for drug addiction, certificate forgery

The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) has rejected 17 junior officers for medication dependence, authentication falsification, robbery and non-appearance, the administration representative, Mr Wale Adeniyi, said in an announcement on Sunday in Abuja.

Adeniyi said that two different officers additionally had their arrangements ended for wrongfully absenting themselves from obligation, while one officer was resigned for medication dependence.

"Seventeen (17) junior officers of the NCS have been rejected from the administration for offenses running from medication dependence, authentication phony, robbery and nonattendance from obligation from Jan. to Sept. 2016.

"Examinations concerning offenses submitted by the officers in the senior classification are being finished up, officers discovered blameworthy are required to confront comparative firm punishments.

"These disciplinary measures were taken after arrangement of examinations and considerations by the disciplinary board of trustees and proposals were made to the administration," Adeniyi said.

He said that the procedure was a continuation of the change motivation that the Comptroller-General of Customs, resigned Col. Hameed Ali, guaranteed upon his supposition of office, which accentuated train, great lead and straightforwardness.
