Immigration service to re-jig directorates

The Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) says it has finished up arrangements to re-dance its directorates keeping in mind the end goal to upgrade its operations and administration conveyance to Nigerians and nonnatives.

The new NIS representative, Mr Sunday James, revealed this on Sunday in Abuja at a meeting with Interior Correspondents.

He said that a proposition had been sent by the NIS administration to the Federal Government for the revamp of the Directorates and the formation of new directorates.

James sketched out the proposed directorates as Passport and other Travel Documents, Visas and Residency, Investigation and Inspectorate, Border Patrol, Migration Finance and Administration, and Planning, Research and Statistics.

"The motivation behind the revamp is to enhance and re-prepare the proposed Directorates, the division and timetables under them as the administration leaves on the execution of its key guide 2016-2019,'' he said.

The representative revealed that the NIS administration withdraw in 2016 in Kano had re-imagined the NIS center command to present institutional importance, Information and Communication Technology (ICT), foundation and operational fabulousness.

He said that the NIS Comptroller General, Mr Muhammad Babandede, has guaranteed to guarantee suitable preparing for staff at all levels to enhance effectiveness.
